We are founders ourselves

Our GPs bootstrapped Fund 1 to grow the international team, onboard global LPs, obtain authorization and conduct fund level investment transactions

What we bring

Global Expertise

Speed & Transparency

Fundraising Mastery

Market Access

As a British VC fund, our clear USP is the geographies we invest in.

Investing in South Korea at the earliest stages, having a hub there and having Korean LPs is an undeniable differential. Understanding the Indian startup landscape, founders’ profiles and the upward trajectory of the country adds to our level of proficiency in global tech investing and industry trends. We love to learn from founders and likewise offer our expertise to them.

Post investment, we open up doors in Europe, India and South Korea to our portfolio companies who want to leverage Simsan’s international community for market(s) access or simply introductions.

Our Global Advantage

Having pitched to many individuals, foundations and corporations from all over the world and won investment ourselves, we advocate that there is an art to winning capital and raising subsequent rounds. At first cheque, our GPs take a long-term view with the founders and strategize with them in raising further capital down the line – who from, when and where.

Speed is of the essence. Our Investment Committee takes a holistic approach to startup due diligence whilst assessing the Simsan fit, the deal itself and needs of the founder(s) alongside the co-investors. We are very open if the deal makes sense for us and for the prospective investee.

Investment Strategy

Additionally, the Simsan pledge involves keeping the portfolio as diverse as possible. It is always the same demographic who win capital and the same people who become VC fund managers. Women, ethnic minorities, immigrants, LGBTQIA+ as well as socially and economically underprivileged, etc will be prioritised at our deal screening.

We strongly feel investing in diverse and underrepresented founders makes sound financial sense. The same goes for the people we will train to become future venture capitalists – investment decision makers have the most power in facilitating ecosystem change and people empowerment.
